looks like a grounding issue !!!!

check to see if registration roller is grounded

does it happen on prints only ???

Have seen this on the 70 and 45 series machines where the grounding spring on the steel registration roller was not making proper contact. Reforming the ground spring on the left hand side of the registration roller; so that it properly touched the metal registration roller resolved the image fault.

That being said the grounding tab for this unit is not in the same sopt on the registration roller shaft. It is on the non-op side of the shaft inbetween a plastic guide.

not a problem. The first time I saw this issue I thought I was drunk or going cross eyed, but the solution was always the grounding tab. I have also seen a tech put a bunch of grease on it for some reason causing the issue.

I had this same issue a few years back on an iR3025, I was unaware of the grounding strap on the registration/transfer assembly. I did make sure the steel registration roller was grounded. I finally replaced the whole spring loaded front of the registration/transfer assembly, and that resolved my problem.

I now can see why it was fixed, I probably got a new grounding strap in that assembly.

Clean the clip and reform it to mount biased against steel roll. Use CONDUCTIVE grease...thats what the black GOO on it is.

I used the official "black goo" on my machine, on the steel registration roller. That did not resolve my problem, I replaced the entire face of the registration/transfer assembly, the one pictured by Teckat, and that finally resolved my issue.

I'm not talking about that clip. I'm talking about the one on the machine itself, rides on silver reg roll at the front when the door is open. I've never had an issue with the one on the door itself.....yet

As I stated more than once, the steel registration roller, directly under the developer mag roller, is where I had already used the prescribed treatment of conductive grease. It did not resolve my problem. The grounding strap on the registration/transfer assembly mounted on the door evidently did.

It took me several visits to finally remedy my problem. I hope you do not get that opportunity ;-)

                              Stay warm up there!!
