    Persevere!

    1) Press the asterisk key (Addnl Funct) on the operation panel.
    2) Press 2 and 8 simultaneously on the numeric keypad.
    3) Press the asterisk key (Addnl Funct) on the operation panel.

    Sticky keypads can give you an irksome time to enter the mode. I have had some that were quite irritating to get to work. On some other models it is possible to switch the entry mode to 4&9 I believe, but I searched the manual and could not see that feature on this model.
