[Jamming] IR1023 N1 Paper tray

I have a N1 paper tray on an IR1023 that will not pick up paper. The solenoid releasing the pickup roller drive does fire but the rollers do not turn. All of the gears that are driver from the machine are turning. If you remove tray 1 and watch tray 2 pickup rollers, all the gears that are driven by the machine turn. You can hear the solenoid fire but the gears driving the rollers don't engage.

Anyone else have this problem?

change the angle of the solenoid pawl ,so it will do a better job of catching the arbor sleeve as it rolls around on the cassette paper pickup.

Can't say as I've seen this problem on an ir1023, but it does have a similar feed system as many fax and the np7130. Check that the spring that attaches to the half moon pick-up tires isn't missing. Those plastic posts break and if you're lucky the customer didn't throw way the spring. The spring pulls the gear on the pick-up into the bite of the rest of the drive gears.
