    IR1600 or IR2000 exposure adjustment

    Hi chaps,

Anyone had any luck adjusting the exposure on this model in service mode? I can't see it anywhere and so I've been setting the default exposure slightly dark or light depending what is needed - a bit of a weak workaround so I thought I'd ask you chaps.

    Many thanks in advance

Are both Copies and Test prints light ??

there are many things that could effect density in this model
    do u have a manual ??

During gain adjustment, the CS unit shines LED light against
the standard white plate to measure the density of the white plate. The data is subjected to
computation, and the result is store in memory as the gain adjustment value.
TEST MODE > [2] CCD TEST > [8] (executing gain adjustment)
When adjustment ends normally, the display indicates ‘OK’. If it indicates
‘NG’, check the following take appropriate action:

Hi and thanks for the reply,

I haven't tried the ccd gain adjustment to be honest. I will give it a go at the nextbweak one I go to. I have a manual so will get the details from there. Problem has been the copies coming out too weak and just need to be a bit darker. On most other Canons you can adjust the DC component of the dev bias to darker or lighten the F5 quality. There is no such adjustment on the 1600. There is a slice adjustment in service mode and going back to my days on fax machines this would also be an F5 adjustment-only problem is there are 9 slice variables and non of them seem to make any difference to copy quality. Basically that is as far as I got before shouting for help on here.

I'll try the gain adjustment but it would be nice to have a manual adjustment too.

      Thanks chap
