Are you a tech?Do you check how many copies do you have with existing separation rollers on rdf?

Get used to doing this procedure fairly often,,, the separation pad in this feeder never makes life in the counters. It is an ill conceived design, and to insure continued customer satisfaction, carry the pads with you and replace at the first hint of multifeeding...

Make sure you transfer the little rollers from the old separation assy to the new one...rollers don't come with it.

I'm waiting on a new pad to arrive... getting anything in the mail last week was a nightmare with our texas freak snow/ice storm. I went ahead and took the seperation pad out and cleaned it really good streached the spring and replaced it... work fine on friday but this morning first copy sucked 2 pages threw... i guess i'll just have to wait.

Remember to clean the large rubber feed roller/ do not use alcohol on it

If you have never taken out that roller pick-up unit---it can be a little tricky the first time

with the sep pad unit out>
                Removing the separation roller
Removal of the separation pad assembly)
                1) Lower the separation roller holder [1]
and pull out the stopper [2].

                DF8.JPG
If you perform this procedure the dip switches are set as above, then re-install the sep pad unit/ & re-set dips back in position -stated in pad removal above
