    Advance series default paper source

I do not have an Adv unit to "play" on - but trying to find what should have been an easy answer.

Customer has an Adv 2030, and wants to change the DEFAULT paper source to drawer 3. They do not want to use Favorites - just want to walk up, select copy, and it pulls from drawer 3 rather than 1 (1 &2 have special paper).

turn your APS off for drawers 1 & 2.
additional functions>LOGIN>function settings>common>paper feed settings>paper drawer auto selection. They can set it for all functions they use

        Just another option.

        1. Set Select Paper to drawer 3
        2. Press the "Box" icon on the top right
        3. Press Change Default Settings.
        4. Press Register.

Thanks guys. I pulled a DOH! on APS - but DLP, how/where did you find that tid-bit? Maybe that was part of the "after test dump" I did. At my age it is hard enough to remember where I left my memory pills.

            Thanks again all.

I hate to admit this but it was from watching a salesman do a demo. Actually, he's probably the most knowledgeable salesman I've met in 15 years doing this.

I had a few in one place
Where for some reason the paper was set to "Plain 2" on all trays
But also beware, Even if the trays are set to Plain 1, it can also still be set differently in printer settings
If it's set as Plain 2 in printer settings it will come up asking to load plain paper in the tray.

Thanks again guys - I resolved the issue trying DLP's trick and it worked. Charm's answer also would have worked but thought I would give a new tip a try.

                      Thanks again.
