    Newbish questions about IR5000..

Hello and greetings to all, this is my first post!

I'd like to ask what the differences between IR5000 and IR5000i, when were they got released and around how much do they cost nowadays in a good condition.

And overall, are they considered to be good and trustworthy models?

    Thank you!

To the best of my knowledge, the 5000i came network ready, able to print, and had Universal Send capabilities. The 5000 was born a copier only model, and had to have options installed to bring it up to par with the 5000i.

The 5000 series was a very hardy model, given that they were properly serviced. But all of them are getting "long in the tooth".

in addition to mrfixit51...mechanically the two are exactly the same and use the same boards except for the Main controller and control panel. Everything that was said above is sopt on. I would take one of these over the newer models anyday if they were both brand new.

Note that a 5000 cannot be changed to a 5000i. It is impossible to add Universal Send - the machine must be "born" with it.

For me its not a high rating for this machine. ir5000 series got a minor problem that developer gear will always jam due to toner become solid between the gear causing rod stirring, and cylinder fail to supply tonner to drum. It happen also to AP kit assembly causing waste toner leak resulting dirty copy.

Well everything will back to normal once you fix the problem jajjaaja
