    ir2525 fax issues

anyone had any luck with the ir2525 faxing over a voice over IP connection.
Tried everything I can think of but it just doesn't work. Customer has a brother
mfp that sends and receives just fine over the VOIP connection.

Will Canon Fax equipment work on a voice over IP circuit, (VoIP) ?
Canon fax equipment will work on any circuit that meets the specification of a voice grade line.

There are special considerations for fax communication over a VoIP circuit. The ITU, (International Telecommunications Union), has established a standard for this type of communication. It is known as the T.38 standard. If you connect your fax in a VoIP circuit and experience difficulty, you may want to make sure the circuit meets the T.38 standard.

For a detailed description of the T.38 standard which governs fax communication on a VoIP circuit, please click the following link.

Canon recommends (and is stated in the specs) a dedicated PSTN (public switched telephone network) connection - that is an actual, factual copper line from the phone company. Not a virtual-reality connection from the cable company.

I had a similar question earlier and the general consensus was to turn off ECM

      Check it out here:
