    ir4570 smears on edge of paper

    Have a machine that smears toner on the edge of the paper. Dev. ass'y and drum are replaced by new one. Still problem exists... Any suggestions?

    which edge? Lead, trail, op-side or non op-side. This will help in solving the issue you are having.

      That would be my "guess" as well... The film deteriorates at the front and back edges first, and if you are getting some ghosty looking crap on the top or bottom of your copies, that would be my prime suspect.

        Stains are not on trailing, nor leading edge, but seem to be on NOP side of paper, not on the edge but on 1st half of the paper seen from NOP side. Complete drumunit, developing unit AND fixing unit have been replaced with NO succes. Examples are in pdf file, which I will try to insert in this post. Any help is appreciated...

          did you pull the hopper out to see if you have a build up of toner between the DV unit and the sub hopper dropping toner. There was a foam seal update to remedy this issue and the toner always dropped on the non op side.
          You can get some standard foam window/door sealant from a hardware store to keep the toner from leaking out.
