are u sure that is the correct read out on panel E040 ??

only seen that code on a CLC for cassette/mf lifter motors
also may have been for the CLC deck also-

yes teckat, its confirmed code, E040 for IR5055n, thats what my fellow technician told me, its not found in the service manual for IR5055/5075.. Anyway he also doubt that part(lifter motor), and going to check for it...

Thank you teckat, will give you feedback as to what the outcome is...

I have also seen this error on the IRC-5180 series, but it had to do with the fixing/feeder sensor and switch assembly which does not apply to this model. I can't find anything for this error pertaining to the error you are having.

are u sure it is not an ALARM CODE ?? if so , it would be 04-0001 for deck lifter m

when did this tech note the code ??
is the printer up or down ??
what are the other Error codes shown in log ?
          does printer heat up ?

If it is an Alarm Code 040011

Alarm is for right deck retry to pick up failure.

The error code noted on the screen is read as E0004000-01000. Anybody can interpret this and where does this error point to?
A fellow tech says its read as E040 while another one says its E400.

              Thanks

Are you sure it's not E004, get him to check fuser then try error clear, and report back.

does the machine power up ??
if u do not have power up, it's not a E400 feeder code
                      !!!

                      Is your Feeder working ??

                      can u make a copy or a print ?
u need to provide what is functioning & what is not !!!!!!!!!!!

when did this code appear = after service/during service/ while printing ????

Never see a Error code displayed that way/ on the back end with five numbers

                      if for an E400
Power of printer/Re-seat the cable going from the ADF CONTROLLER to MEMORY PCB

                      E40.jpg
If E400 is still present it has been found that replacing the ADF Controller or MEMORY PCB may be necessary.

for an E004- U can try to go in service mode to clear it (COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR)
                      power of /power on

where is this master tech ???? on phone or on site
                      ?
take a picture of the control panel ERROR CODE and post it here
