You format the HD using SST, you also need system software for the 3300 to be used in conjunction with SST to service the HD. Without both of those you cannot service the HD.

No ,, I do not provide either of them...

If you have SST and firmware follow the this steps :

Get yourself an IEEE1284 (aka bi-directional) parallel cable. Your pc needs to have a parallel port and support ECP mode. If not you will need to look in the bios (usually accessed by hitting F10 or something similar on startup) and/or look in device settings in Windows.

Use the following procedure to replace the hdd (if that's what you need the firmware for).

        1. Turn off your copier. Disconnect power
        2. Remove old hdd and install new one (look in service manual for location of hdd and how to remove it)
        3. Connect IEEE1284 parallel cable to copier and computer.
        4. Install SST on PC
        5. Start SST on PC.
        6. Decompress firmware and register it
        7. While pressing 2 and 8 on copier turn it on. You should see "Download" or "Download Mode".
        8. Make sure that SST is set up to use parallel (or bi-directional) not network
        9. Make sure you've selected overwrite.
        10. Send firmware to copier. Try doing the HDFormat then the ALL_HDF option.
        11. If the ALL_HDF option doesn't work try the ALL option.
        12. If the ALL option doesn't work install each item individually starting with the system software and boot rom

Use the following procedure to upgrade to version n firmware (note you must have the N boot rom from the appropriate network kit installed for this to work):

        1. Turn off your copier (using switch on the right hand side of copier). Disconnect power
        3. Connect IEEE1284 parallel cable to copier and computer.
        4. Install SST on PC.
        5. Start SST on PC.
        6. Decompress firmware and register it
        7. While pressing 2 and 8 on copier turn it on (using switch on right hand side of copier). You should see "Download" or "Download Mode".
        8. Make sure that SST is set up to use parallel (or bi-directional) not network
        9. Make sure you've selected overwrite.
        10. Send firmware to copier. Try using the Networked firmware's ALL option (don't use the HDF one as that is for when you need to format the HD as well).
        12. If the ALL option doesn't work install each item individually starting with the networked boot rom and networked system software.
