ImagePress Server A2100 DEAD, need major help!

    Hi,

Our Canon iPR C6000 was connected to an imagepress server a2100. The server now has a dead motherboard, and needs to be replaced. However, the company who deals with clicks/parts/etc says this will take up to 4-5 days to complete a repair/replacement.

Our imagepress is just sitting there now, unusable and we have a zillion emergency jobs to do on it. I tried connecting my XPS laptop to it via USB, but the drivers (PS, UFR and PCL) dont detect the printer, however Windows 7 x64 does.

When I send something to print on the machine, it says 'receiving' and the job disappears. When i check the logs, all prints have the 'NG' error '853'.

I have also tried connecting the printer to the network, and to my laptop via crossover cable. Still no joy. I've gone through the menus and cant seem to find anywhere in the C6000 to change IP address settings, or to configure it to not look for the A2100 rip.

    Can anyone help?

            Cause

            -Using the wrong printer driver.
-The machine does not have the proper printer kit installed (e.g.
            UFR, PCL, PS kit(s)).
-The print job did not print because due to lack of
resources on the printer (e.g. memory, HD space, etc).
-Print spooler on the machine is full.
-The number of secure print jobs have exceeded the
maximum limit that can be reserved at this time.

            Remedy

-Make sure that the printer driver that you’re using is the correct
one for the operating system on the computer that you are
printing from and specific to the printer model that you’re printing
            to.
-Check and verify that the correct and the required printer kit is
Installed (e.g. UFR, PCL, PS kit(s)).
-Reduce the number of pages to print.
-Erase unnecessary jobs that are stuck or in reserve.
-Turn off spooler on the printer, ADDITIONAL FUNCTION >
SYSTEM SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > USER
SPOOLER, set this value to OFF.
-Print out or erase secured print jobs that are stored or waiting to
            be printed on the machine.
-Try printing again when other jobs have completed printing.
You have to install the PDL license and memory card in order to print with the internal UFR/PCL/PS kits

I am surprised that the supporting company does not have a backup option available to keep you up and running. We would take our imagepass from the demo floor to keep you up and running while getting the boards to repair yours.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

That is kind of what I thought it would be, sometimes crap happens that has no ready solution to the problem. If the servicing company does not have access to a loaner they could pilfer from, you end up waiting.

do u have a contract with a Canon Authorized Dealer ??

if so, they should have had a back up box somewhere.
did u get an error code when server crashed ?

                try replacing the memory
, it should be available faster than Motherboard
