    Canon ir3025 email settings

Trying to setup a ir3025 with universal send to send emails. I have done it before many times, but for some reason trying it with ATT (sbcglobal) is not working. Have set the Smtp-to smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com (and smtp.att.yahoo.com) found it listed both ways? You figure. set the E-mail address name@sbcglobal.net. Set port to 465. tried it with authentication and without authentication. Not having any luck. ANy help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Has anyone been able to get it to work with sbcglobal?

Use the Abuse of Service Form to contact the AT&T Abuse team and choose the **Opt Out Port 25 under Abuse Type. Enter your Master Account Member id (also used for PPPoE Login) to opt-out. You don't need to enter your email address at the other mail hosting provider; the filter is based on your login ID only. After you receive a confirmation email to the Master Account Member ID (this sometimes takes 24-48 hours), you will need to logoff the network and turn off your DSL router/modem for 30 seconds to remove the filter.
An example of the Abuse Form

Changed the port to 587 - bingo it worked. I could not find any information about them changing the port to that number. Is that a new number?

Server administrators choose whether clients use TCP port 25 (SMTP) or port 587 (Submission), as formalized in RFC 4409, for relaying outbound mail to a mail server. This is from wikipedia.

it is an alternate port for mail transmission, i have also used port 2525 as well.
