While the fan is at rest, the lock signal has been detected for 5sec.
While the fan is in operation, the lock signal is not detected for 5 sec.

Check & or Replace the fan. Replace the DC controller PCB

the exhaust fan can become dirty or locked up. Clean the fan and make sure the fan blades spin freely. In some cases the fan needs to be replaced.

Thanks Ill check it out... I accidentally got my numbers mixed up I meant 3570..doh While I got your attention. I saw in another thread replacement door parts.. i tried to find the parts listed and was unable to find them.. any suggestions on where to purchase? I have to press on the side door to prevent a paper jam when I hit the start button. I can only assume I need to upgrade my door? And any idea why the second tray will not show paper in it no matter how much I put in it? I'm thinking the gear mech is not working correctly. when I switch to that tray it sounds completely different as it initializes. Thanks much for your help!

      Lower door part# FC6-1298-000
      Inner door ass'y, part# FC6-1297-000
      Vertical path rollers, part FB6-4582-000
      Feed rollers, part# FC6-7083-000
      Separation rollers, part# FC6-6661-000

If you want to upgrade the door you only need:
          FM3-1296
right lower door assy & FM3-1297 right lower inner door assy.
If you have black vertical feed rollers do not hesitate to change them to the gray (FB6-4582).

Do you know of any sources or is that a specific Canon part number?

I checked my rollers.. I have all grey rollers. Also.. when my paper jams.. its not the lower rollers that are screwing up.. its the long roller in the middle of the door.. its almost like the door is not closing tight enough.. because like I said previously.. I can push in on the door and the paper wont jam, but clearly the paper is making it thru the lower rollers.. its the long roller that is not grabbing. How or can you adjust the door and how well it pulls shut?

Well, I think I figured this out.. I cleaned the feed and alignment rollers with oxy clean and now it works. I think its safe to assume the rollers need replaced or dried out from sitting for over a year? My only problem left is tray two not lifting. I can look in and the gear mechanism is not lifting the paper.. any clues?

the Lifter Plate or the Lifter Gear in the paper cassette being damaged or bent. The part number for the Lifter Plate is FB6-3486-000. The part number for the Lifter Gear is FU3-0294-000.

I believe as was indicated,, you still need the parts Borsody75 pointed out for you. The pressing in on the door, making it work, is a classic example of a need for those parts...

what Jam code is in log for tray two
                      ??
I pulled both trays out.. nothing is bent.. and both gear assemblies seem to be ok. Both gears will not twist in one direction but will the other. I checked and rechecked the tray assemblies and mechanisms for any obvious problems. I see no jam code. It just says the tray is empty in the main display. The rollers on tray two seem to be in like new condition as well, so I'm thinking its been a problem for sometime. I don't have the service manual.. I wish I did. How do you access the gear assembly? From the rear of the machine? It would be nice to see the assembly in action when I slide the tray in.

@mrfixit51 I'll most likely replace the door parts.. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't spending money I didn't need to spend. If thats a classic giveaway then I'm up for replacing them. Cleaning the rollers worked but i need this thing to be reliable. Thanks for the input.

I too used to wash those vertical rollers to get them to work better, that was before the grey rollers were introduced. Really strange as cassettes 3 & 4 were already using the grey roller,,, go figure. The non reinforced black guide on Cassette 1 tends to warp, even with the foam pads that were the interim fix. The new guide and door were a Godsend. You will need them at some point, so it is better to git'r dun' now and save yourself some grief later...

Yeah.. I will replace the doors. The machine seems to have very low miles on it.. The only problem it seems to have is it sat for over a year in a building with no climate control. So it was dirty.. one of the fans was locked up and well the issues I'm having with tray 2 and the paper jams. Sure appreaciate the feedback... so where is the access to the tray gear assembly?

There is a bulletin, maybe it can help you.

You have also check the pick up solenoid, sometimes it is full with toner because of the leakage between the hopper and developer.
