Older firmware versions of the W8400PG

    Hi,

I'm a proud owner of a not correctly working W8400PG A0 printer. The problem with this printer is that it doesn't print cyaan right. This happened with other errors after putting in a new head into the printer and a firmware update. They said the firmware update was done, because the printhead could work then. But it failed. So it's definantly a software error.

I've allready modified the firmware of 2.15 to rewrite the firmware, so i know for sure they put it in correctly. But still allot of errors.

I'm searching for older firmware versions of this printer. Canon doesn't want to give this information. Would like to get more technical information about this printer. I'm have enough technical knowedge to fix this problem.

Firmware upgrade must be done prior to changing the print head.
As a general rule you should look for the latest firmware and not vice versa. I don't believe you will solve your problem by going backwards in firmware.
    Said that...

What exactly do you mean by "not wright" ?

Make a "nozzle check" printout to see the cyan color.

Allready did the Nozzle check etc. Previous to me there's allready been 5000 euro on repairs on it. There's even been a official canon repair guy at the machine to check what's wrong they said. It's been in a school and they did it away because of all the software problems after the update. They told me what they allready did with it:

      - Replaced printer head two times
      - replaced tubes
      - filled everything up with new inkt

I've got like 1100 euros of inkt with it.
Cyaan doesn't show anything. And it has problems with checking the width of the paper. Sometimes it just says that it must be shut down when preparing for printing. Did the nozzle check a few times. It gave no printerhead errors.

The only way i think to get it working correctly is to put the old firmware back on it with the old printerhead I have.

What i mentioned was after rewriting the firmware, it doesn't reset the other part of the software on it (width of paper and other presets). Is there a way to do a full reset on that part?

you are not very clear in your answers ...
        still:
When you "Print Inf / Nozzle check" there is a piece of paper coming out of the printer. In your case with 6 boxes, one per each color.
You should check if there is any cyan ink on the paper.
If there is : are the lines correct or are they not.

When you perform "Head cleaning B" , what comes out ? an error ? or the process ends up normally ?

But i don't want the latest version. Does anybody read my posts here? The whole problem is that 2.15 fucked up the printer and i want a older version of the firmware.

This is what should have been done first_
Before replacing the print head, be sure to perform the firmware upgrade with the old print head installed.

reinstall the old print head and use the “download mode” to re-load the firmware.

I'll try this. Sadly one of the inkt cartridges is empty, so i've gotta buy a new one for 115 euro
