    [Electrical] IR-2620 IRRATIC SCANNING from document feeder

    I have an IR_2620 that intermittently does not scan starting in the home position causing a 4 inch lead edge problem on the copy can watch the scanner not starting at home position

    I've never seen that problem but the first thing I would do is clean and lube the scan rails and clean all scanner area sensors. Any error codes?

    BTW - Nice to see another Delaware guy. Are you a tech in lower DE?

      Sussex County - have done all obvious things like clean rails and clean sensors and wierdly enough no codes just continues to work like nothing is wrong if you like I can fax samples if they help / how many sensors in this scan area I only see one

          I agree. The motor has been an issue with this model and the problem you are having

            ditto..i've had to swop out a few of those scanner motors.only on 2620's for some reason.

              Defective Scanner Motor (FM1-0407-000
              ). The Scanner Motor loses it's timing -
              **Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

                Thank you everyone for the help I am trying to post replies but for some reason it won't let me so I am attempting again I need a service manual for this machine and does anyone have this motor
