[Misc] removal of Canon IR/IRC series emaintainence service

Re: removal of Canon IR/IRC series emaintainence

I understand that that we can go into the service mode to disable it.
I just can't find that option. Could any gurus assist on this matter?

Thank you so much in advance!

emaintainence should be off as default,
to switch it on/off go into service mode

copier>function>install>e-rds set to 0 for off and 1 for on

If you don't pay for Canon Inc the charge of e-maintenance service, you will not able to monitor your iR/iRC, irrespectively of switching. You are worrying about that Canon can spying about your machines if it is on?

Probably take over a machine from competition.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Nope.i do not like the e-maintenance service.I am not worried abt the spying thingy as Canon would not risk the reputation and also there are white papers to support the eM security.
