I have had this problem with 2 machines now. For some reason i will make a copy on the glass and copies fine but i will run a copy through the ADF and the copies come completly blank. When i switch the ADF machine runs fine what is in the ADF that causes this.

It sounds like you may have a problem with the size switches on the ADF. The switches that sense 11 x 17 may be constantly closed. That will make the machine give you a blank copy when an 8.5 x 11 sheet is run through the DF. The machine will copy the trail edge of the 11 x 17 sheet first thus giving you a blank if you are copying onto 8.5 x 11. Try copying the 8.5 x 11 original onto a 11 x 17 sheet and see if your image shows up. That will tell you if this is the case. Also, when you switch ADFs, does the problem show up on the other machine?

all the new Ir series feeders can have this problem if one leaves documents on the tray and it activates the A3 sensor . Try it yourself it can catch you out easilyComment

add a ty-wrap onto the adf size sensor arms...use a small one and cut the excess off..this will make the actuators a little less touchy and stay up betterComment
