iR-c5180 out of focus on scanning direction.

    Hi, fellows,

On this c5180 the image is out of focus on the scanning direction only.
This happens even if I only copy in single color (K, M, C, Y).

I have followed the indications dictated on bulletin TP03 174f.pdf to no avail:
    - Replaced ITB unit with one from a working machine.
    - Re-aligned the laser cam in all four laser units.
    - Performed COPIER>CLEAR>DC-CON and COPIER>CLEAR>MN-CON.
    - Replaced DC-Controller, Replaced System Controller, Replaced ribbon cable,
    - Last resort: Replaced Main Controller Box.
    - I even replaced the Pattern Reader Assembly.

Note: All replacement parts came from a working machine.
The DC-CON & MN-CON clear, and, the laser cam re-alignment were done again after replacing the circuits.

    I must be missing something.

    Please help!

are u talking about Scanning off the Glass ????

    u stated>out of Focus on a single Color ??
were u checking PG 5 single color prints ??

    explain single color ????

The laser exposure system is controlled mainly by the DC controller PCB2(MAISY).

Scanning direction- Main or Sub scan ?
    5185 scan.JPG
this pic is Sub-Scan--lead to trail edge-

U first need to determine >
if the image is out of focus on the ITB before transfer/separation to paper ??

if the image is OK !!! on ITB/ and out of focus afte
    r
    transfer/separation
Check your Secondary Transfer Roller unit

if image is out of focus on ITB before transfer/separation - check ITB Drive Motor M1
