    Yes, another I-Fax problem.

    Hi everyone.

So, I've been trying to get the I-Fax option to work on my iR2010.

Thing is, I do not know what optional equipment is installed or if it is needed for I-Fax.
I read here that you needed some optional eq. for the 1610. It is connected via LAN and setup as a network printer. I have confirmed that I can send a fax via a phone line.

Printer interface gives me options to set SMTP server and port via "FAX SETTINGS" - "LAN SETTINGS", RUI does not. Why is that? There is not IFAX/E-mail selection tap on my printer or RUI. RUI gives me options of changing these protocols: TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS and AppleTalk (see below).

At first I got NG 802 then I got NG 801 now just a -- in status in job log.
802 changed to 801 when I fixed a Gateway typo in settings. 801 changed to doing nothing (--) when I set the SMTP server to our inside network server.

There is not IFAX/E-mail selection tap on my printer or RUI. RUI gives me options of changing these protocols: TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS and AppleTalk (see below).

    Firmware of printer is 1.00

I would really appreciate it if someone who has knowledge of this printer can help me out, this is driving me crazy.

    Sincerely,
    Birgir

    I've manage to fix this.

I confirmed I have a iR2010 with printer and fax boards. Problems were fixed by installing a free SMTP server on a computer and inputting the IP address to that computer on the console at the printer (Press the * with the circle around is -> Fax Settings -> Lan Settings -> Mail User Settings -> SMTP Server). I'm currently trying to figure out what is wrong with our integrated SMTP server on our Windows 2003 Server machine.

I did however not find a way to input these settings through RUI (Remote Unit Interface) via my web-browser.

I hope this will help someone.
