Publication describes precautions that should be taken when upgrading the System Software on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2030/ C2020 series copiers.

When upgrading the System Software using 2+8 start-up simultaneously on a new machine installation or P-CRG initialization upon replacement of a new one, an E240-0005 or E020-1xxx may occur.

I think it applies to brand new, straight out of the box machines that have the update done the first time they are turned on.
Therefore if you unbox the machine test it, get a few copies out then reboot and do the update you wont get the error described.

And hopefully, since this is obviously a system software glitch, they will address the problem in the next update version of system software for the device...
