I want to upgrade ir2016 to "i" but apart from the printer kit J1 , do u need a HD and memory? if yes what sizes.
Also will the sst v3.11 work with this machine?

hello, the best i can tell from the service guide and the sales brocure you cannot convert the 2016 to a 2016i. you will need sst 3.33 or higher. have a great day.

IR2016/2020 comes with 2 different print mode. Like IR2270/2870/3570/4570 & IR2230/2830/3530.

One with HD mode & one with ROM mode.

HD mode is use HDD for additional functions.
ROM mode is for network printing functions only.

In addition, there're 2 types system software for you to choose either HD mode or ROM mode.

Yes... you can convert to network print in ROM mode.

For the IR 2016\2020, does the converter comes with the network card /port ? since the basic machine has only USB port
