    iRC3220 Hangs up intermittently

Hi I have a case with a iRC3220 that hangs up. Havent seen it myself, the customer restarts it and it works when i arrive...

Green light flashes but nothing is printed out until machine gets restarted.

I have replaced HD and dimms.

    Any ideas?

No imagePass, no message, machine looks like its receiving printjob but nothing happens.

OK- is the printer networked ?

clear out any jobs waiting to print -

Print out P PRINT & User data settings/
        go in service mode -COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>MN-CON

u will need to input any lost settings

Clears RAM on main controller PCB’s SRAM board.
Caution • The RAM is cleared after the OK key is pressed.
        • Executing this item initializes all the data on the SRAM board. In other words, file management information for the hard disk is initialized, and image data on the hard disk can no longer be read.
Before executing this item, explain to the user that all images in the BOX will be lost, and receive permission to execute.
Operation 1) Select COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > P-PRINT to print out the method service mode setting values.
        2) Select this
        COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>MN-CON
, then press the OK key.
Power off/on> put back settings on sheets

Yes its networked, im not at the machine right now, going back tomorrow. I told the customer not to restart the machine next time it hangs up. When i think of it it might be driver related.

It will be good to catch it in a down condition. Check the fuser temp when you find it is not functioning, I seem to remember some condition like this of under temp fuser...

Ill try it, thanks teckat. I thought the only thing i lost on a MN-CON clear was user settings and that counters in "DRBL" went down to zero?

I cant really see what the fuser got to do with it? But I will check it of course.

Thx Teckat! I executed a MN-CON clear and loaded the latest system on the machine. All the values on P-PRINT were the same after. Network settings were gone but I made a backup via RUI prior to the clear so it was easy to restore everything. DRBL counters were zeroed but that doesnt really matter. The customer hasnt called back so it seems to work fine!

                  Many thanks/ King Kogo

Interesting,MN Con clear shouldnt blow away network settings. As long as it works!!!

Glad you seemed to resolve your problem,,, what the fuser temp has to do with it is simple, the documents would fail to print if it was not at operating temp. All kinds of DC controller as well as main controller "brain farts" are often temporarily cleared up by a cold start...

It does clear them, for sure. On a machine with a imagepass it wont, naturally.

Mcon clear does not delete network settings. The RAM is cleared, image data is lost,BOX is lost, but network settings remain. MMI clear will blow away network settings(user settings)

Really strange though, they were gone.... Tried it on a 2880 yesterday and it cleared out network settings. Difference between models? Where is network settings stored?
