Whenever I send something to print, it comes out with horizontal bands of white, along with rows of random numbers and letters and these little checker blocks that will divide up my print.... why is this? I just picked up this printer for free and it's page count is around 550,000. Are these problems that are fixable or is it just too old/used ?

internal test page comes out fine, I installed a driver that comes included in windows xp as in it was automatically installed when connected to my pc... so that could be the problem? When I first fired it up it printed out a few pages just fine, could the connection between the printer and pc be the problem as well? I'm using a parallel to usb port...Comment
