    canon ir600d problem

    Hi to all

    I heave problem with this copier and firmware. I was called after customer (and some tech person) installed network board and performed firmware flash. I do not know which version or which firmware. Situation was that copier would start to boot and it would get stuck at half process (please wait message and logo on lcd).
    I heave tried to flash with ir6000d firmware but could not get it operational. i would eather get blank screen or same problem as before. Last thing i tried to do is to erase hdd (hdd format) and to start from nothing. After i heave erased hdd i can not get sst to flash boot. it is displaying that boot is for different model.
    I heave firmware (full set of files) for ir6000, ir6000d and ir6000dn but could not find solution for this.
    I did not ruled out HDD as problem source but since it was functioning before network card installation I think that it should be ok

      Are you working on a IR 600 or Ir 6000; The the thread title is for Ir 600, but you are referring to ir 6000 series for the firmware?

        if its a 6000 make sure you have the new style board software
        otherwise you are hosed

        if its a 600 then there is no need to flash the machine firmware
        you most likely need the 600 print board software which is completely machine seperate and if memry serves me an HSU file

          it is ir6000d (at least according to SST) I heave mistyped it in topic name.

          I will try to get to customer and try to flash again but this time i will get some screenshots of errors.

          Just to point out, after hdd format when I try to flash boot i get message that there is boot, and if i press button to continue it errors out with message that boot is for different device. All this is done in recovery mode.

            the blank screen is probably because the extra RAM was installed. I would open up the main controller cage to verify that the boot rom that was installed is indeed for this model and the unit has two sticks of RAM in it.

            Your boot rom should have a white sticker on it with the part number: FG3-2159-000
            If it does not have a number or the number is different then I would suspect the boot rom is bad or incorrect.

                thinking about this a little further what version of SST are you using? I have better luck running 4.23 on the older machines.

                  @charm5496
                  i heave 4.24e version of sst.

                  @teckat
                  similar. i don't heave section with "all" on right side. only each part of firmware separately (boot, hdd format, system, rui, etc).

                  as soon as i can i will go back to customers office and try to flash again so that i can get screenshots. all i can say is that when i try to flash boot i get error code 125. damn i should heave done screenshots first time i was there.....

                    if u have a copy of v82.03-
                    go in C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\SST Files
                    and delete iR5000d_v82.03 FOLDER

                    then Re-Register v82.03 in SST

                      And just to cover all the bases here, you mentioned that they put a network card in this copier, did they also place an N-boot rom in the copier as well?? It has been so long since I put that option into one of those copiers. I believe that the original install package had the boot rom as well as the nic in the box. Without the n boot rom this will not work correctly.

                      Past that point, are you sure you are trying to load the N version of the boot rom in SST, and not the copier version?

                        Do you have an old Configuration print out from this machine? If so what is the boot Rom Version. If it was orginally a networked printer it is possible the boot rom was flached back to a copier only version. If this is the case you will need a need a new network boot Rom.
                        Looks Like mrfixit51 coved this already.

                            My guess would be, Replace the hard drive and go from their. The drive is very little cost and firm ware update may have caused it to crash. Hope this helps.
