    Removed part - corona cleaner

    Hi to all,

After having coffee with my friends technicians, I've heard information that one company from my town intentionally removes corona cleaner from iR 50xx series, and the reason for that is to get service call sooner!
Is this possible or there is some problem with that part?
I had to remove it once because it was broken, but I informed my customer with that fact.

    Any comment?

    Cheers

        That's my opinion too.

Just can't believe they actually do this.

We were informed to do this on the Minolta Di750 not to make calls faster, but because the cleaners would get hung up and code out the machine. Truthfully, their wires didn't really need a cleaner.

People actually remove parts to get calls faster?! I spend my time trying to keep them from calling back until PM time.

I do my best all the time. I'll do proper servicing without thinking when will I do it again.

In short, it is a bad practice to eliminate the wipers. Replace them at every wire change to maximize life of the coronas. It is like washing your car with a dirty sponge otherwise,,, new wires, new wipers...
