    Canon IR1024if #801 error

    Hi everyone!
I've got a problem when I want to scan _/send email with an IR1024if. I couldn't send email and I've got a report with a #801 error code. I know what does it mean, the #801 for the SMTP problem.
    What I know is:
*the machine's email address is correct / it is tried as a normal email on a email client program
*they can print on the machine---network settings are good - only scanning makes problem
*the email server is in an internal network and they want to use an email server/ email sending in their internal server ( I know the SMB and FTp would be much more easier, but they wnat to use an email sending function as once they would send emails to the internet, not just internally.)
*Infact this email server must work good cause they can send emails to eachother, only the machine can not send email.
*Every network settings are set. No missing part.
    What's the problem?
    Any idea?
    Thank you in advance!

        Hi,

        How's your findings?

I'm also face with same #801 on a iR1024iF. Settings are check against Outlook Ex 6 and is able send/recv; Copier's default Subject / File name has been modify; on same location have a iR4570 with exact same settings do not have any issues sending emails.

A check on router show internet connection establish between 1024iF's IP address to external IP before it process to port 25 of hosted mail server, likewise for iR4570 but iR1024iF still #801 after 5-10 mintues. Any help is really appreciated as I am totally stumped.

This machine does not support SSL authenication, depending on the email server you may have to go the smb route

Thanks for this copier's limitation on SSL.

Just to sidetrack out of topic, would it not indicated that SSL is not use when copier is using port 25? As the router's log indicate external port to be port 25 of hosted mail server. If i'm not wrong, my understanding SSL ports are 443 and 578. I had tried Outlook Exp 6's email settings to turn SSL on, I cannot send any emails out but works fine when SSL is off.
