    [Misc] imageRUNNER C5058/ C5068/ C5800/ C5870/ C6800/ C6800N/ C6870U-SATA HDD

Publication describes the introduction of the SATA HDD for the imageRUNNER C5058/
    C5068/ C5800/ C5870/ C6800/ C6800N/ C6870U.

Currently the PATA (Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment) HDD is used for all the above mentioned products affected. The manufacturer has suspended production of the PATA HDD and has started production of the new SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) HDD.
As stock for the PATA HDD diminishes, the following action should be taken when the HDD is replaced: Replace the old type PATA HDD with the new type SATA HDD.

anyone else saving the old HDD's from junk units? We have about 50 of them from several different models to cover us for future calls. I also think NWRS has a supply of the IDE hard drives as well.
It's a shame Canon is putting the burden on the dealerships to upgrade the machines to SATA when they are the ones who can't supply us with the original style IDE hard drives.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
