Re: E0003 on irc2880i
E003= Low temperature of the fixing unit after standby-
E003-0000/ Error in the low temperature of the fixing unit=Detects the temperature detected by the main thermistor is abnormally low (below 120 deg C) for 1 sec
continuously after passing 20 sec from turning ON the
fixing heater.
Check the connection of the main thermistor/thermal
switch. Check open circuit of heater.
Options= Replace the cover switch. Replace the fixing unit. Replace the main power supply PCB. Replace the DC controller PCB.
Clear the error in service mode: COPIER > FUNCTION
> CLEAR > ERR.
0001= Detects the temperature detected by the sub thermistor is abnormally low (below 90 deg C) for 1 sec
continuously while adjusting print temperature.
Check on connection of the sub thermistor/thermo-
switch,
Options=Replace the fixing unit, Check on a break in the
heater, Replace the cover switch, Replace the main
power supply PCB, Replace the DC controller PCB
To recover from the error: In service mode COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR >ERR
0002= Detects the abnormally low temperature (open circuit) when turning ON the fixing heater.
Options=Replace the fixing heater.
Clear the error in service mode: COPIER > FUNCTION
> CLEAR > ERR.
what is your SUB-CODE/ E003-XXXX
Checked the temperature in service mode-under Display for FIX-E and FIX-E2

Check if the right door lower hinges are broken (cracked). The right door will tilt slightly and not allow the actuator to activate SW3 properly, hence causing E003 error code.
Before replacing such things as, the entire Fixing unit, the DC Driver PCB, AC Driver PCB, and DCON; check SW3 and it's right door actuator. In some cases SW3 has been found to also cause E003-0002 codes (also sub code 0000). SW3 is the Fixing unit's AC interlock switch. Sometimes the right door actuator will be bent and not fully press SW3 when the right door is closed. SW3 is a button switch located right above some of the Fixing unit's rear frame connections. SW3 has been found to show signs of wear and have carbon build up inside it. If the right door actuator is straight and making good contact , inspect SW3 and it's AC connections. If any flaws are found after inspecting SW3, replace it. SW3's part number is, FM2-9427-000.
The image below is for reference purposes only, it points out SW3 and it's right door actuator.

Clear the error code in service mode, and cheat SW3 and power cycle the printer to verify if the position of the right door is the cause for this error code. Upon successful verification, the replacement of either right door hinges would be necessary to resolve the error code.

Re: E0003 on irc2880i
I would suggest getting a manual for this. Even though the steps are fairly simple it is easy to mess things up on this unit if you do not take your time.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: E0003 on irc2880i
Let us not overlook the right door interlock switch.
I discovered a way to actually observe the operation of this switch last week. Remove right side rear cover, remove the 3 round head screws securing the hinge assembly to the frame. Remove the cover that covers the interlock switch SW3. Open right door, and free the upper portion by pulling the pin up. Walk the upper 3-way door carefully over the larger lower door. There is a drive gear you need to walk over the lower door at the rear of the 3-way. then close the lower door and secure with the 3 screws. Now as you latch the lower door you can view how well the actuator makes the switch. I adjust mine so there is no bind, but no free play either in the switch actuator..."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"
