    AlwaysToner absence occured even replace new for Canon IRC 3580i

    Im having problem on Canon IRC 3580i.
    Before it has having error 990-0000 and it was resolved by cleaning of PS12. After we assemble.I start testing.the problem when the color toner was become empty and we replaced it by new cartridge like Yellow, Cyan and Magenta. around 30 copies or more. the yellow toner become empty and it was displaying need to replace new toner for that color. it is also appearing on other color. when we shake the new toner cartridge and install it again. around 30 or more copies . it happens again. does anyone knows what is the problem? according to the manual the piezo-sensor is the one can detect by the toner absence. is that true. thank you in advance!!!

    make sure your firmware is above 69.01. Also are you getting any error message with this issue? There are toner sensors for each assembly and your might be dirty.

      - Only prepare toner was the message on the display, when i shake the toner cartrdge. it become working again, (the toner cartrdge is new). I also clean all the toner sensors. what i've done to the machine is when I resolved the error 990. I also clean / vacuum the toner tube. where the toner cartridge is place. do you think that is the possible cause ? because i think all the toner on the tube was gone and zipped by vacuum!

        go into service mode and do a toner stir since you vacumed out the toner tube.

          - I already do it sir. In level 1, I did , I think it's STR4. and become ok, but in Level 2 by stiring each color . the Status of all color is NG!

            normally the level 1 stir is all that is needed

              E990 0000 -
              When the locking Handle for the Process Assembly is turned to the locked position it re-positions a rack that opens the Waste Toner Shutters. When the rack is in the correct position there is a cutout in the rack that unblocks PS12, if the sensor remains blocked an E990 0000 will be generated.

              Remove the Hopper Drive Assembly and the Hopper Assembly (see your Manual for instructions). With those items removed you will see a white nylon gear plate with 2 locking screws.

              Loosen the locking screws and position the gear plate so that when the handle is in the locked position, the cutout in the rack unblocks PS 12

                    if u Replace toner in this series models when display says Remaining Toner Low, u run into this problem- u then need to clear the counter for color in question -in Service Mode- Customer needs to know this> > to Replace Toner only when printer says ADD TONER-/and not during Toner Low or Prepare Toner-

                    Go in Common Settings>Function Display Settings>Erase Remaining Toner Error Message-

                          I think he is reffering to the buffer assmebly that is between the toner bottle and the hopper unit. Figure 621 in the PM

                            I try to clear the counter in service mode " COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>TNR-Y/TNR-M/TNR-C " but still keep showing the message of replace toner to Cyan. after 30 to 50 copies made.

                            Thank you for your quick reply, I really appreciate your all helpful tips.. till now I am frustrated to the machine. really need your help..
                            This is started when we resolved the error message E990-0000, after we fixed the error, which is due to the PS12 was smudged and cover by the thick toner. We try to assemble it again, you can read it all to my previous PM here. And then, that's it the issue about the toner replace was appeared. When I read it to the manual, the piezo sensor is the one responsible to the toner absence.... this is what i found -

                            1. Detection by piezosensor
                            This is the detection for the presence or absence of the toner on the hopper assembly by the piezoelectric-vibrating piezosensor (TS1~4) mounted on the lower area
                            of the hopper assembly. It is executed at power ON, after the hopper assembly feeding and during the toner recovery control (hopper assembly forced feeding).
                            Piezosensor executes one set (sixteen times of reading) and judges the toner presence/absence based on the toner ratio at that time.
                            Toner absence: When the read value is judged as toner absence twelve times or more out of sixteen times
                            Toner presence: When judged as toner absence eight times or less out of sixteen times
                            The result of this detection is sent to DC control roller.
                            If the toner residual level is less than the specified value, DC controller notices two kinds of messages (toner absence notice, toner absence) to video controller.
                            The following is the relationship between the display message and the toner residual level.

                              In addition,

                              When we shake the Cyan cartridge (after the message was appeared to replace new cyan, even the cartridges is new ) then we installed it again, the problem is become ok, but after 30 to 50 copies it will come back!
