Ya, what about a technical customer? it is someone from their IT group. I am against customer installed parts but "at your own risk" pretty much spells it out. Do you have any documentation other that a service manual?
service manual is your best bet. Print out the pages that go over the drum replacement with diagrams for the customer and maybe show them. I guess when they ruin a drum or a miss a step and end up paying you in the end they will realize why the drum should be installed by a trained tech.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
