    ir2200 Scan Setup

I'm trying to setup the scan functionality of an ir2200 at one of my client's remote offices.

I have done this on their ir6570 by using the browser interface. I have it so they can scan and email to themselves (Add. Func... Custom Settings... Email/IFax Settings) or scan to a network share (Address Book).

However, I don't see where I can setup either on the ir2200. It almost seems like it doesn't have the scanner installed. I don't have the Email/IFax Settings under Custom Settings and when I go to the address book, all I can add are "Fax" or "Group". Under the Device... Status page, the Scanner Status is Ready.

Any help? I'm a bit lost... obviously!

The IR-2200 does not have universal send and therefore it will not scan to email or network folder.

      Well... THERE'S my problem!

So, how do I get an XP machine to be able scan? What was the purpose of the copy guy selling them a CT-2 kit??? If there a manual somewhere?

I really hate supporting remote offices.

      Thanks!

never heard of this CT-2 kit. The only way to scan with an IR-2200 is with network scangear and it is a pull scan software.

teckat... thanks for the link... but that is a brochure... and I'm looking for some sort of manual on how to set this thing up for my users.

I think I finally figured out that I needed to download and install the NWSG_v2.21.exe. How silly of me to think Canon would actually name these things in a manner that was intelligible for someone beside a person who already knew what they were looking for. OK... rant over.

To test this... I installed on a Server 2003 box. I ran the ScanGear Tool and it found my printer (10.10.12.11). I clicked "Test Connection" and get "The selected scanner is available for scanning." I opened MS Paint and when to File... From Scanner or Camera... but it is greyed out.

              Now what?

You need to scan with Acrobat Standard or Professional, or MS Word and see if that works.

Is your Printer Set to Online on the Control Panel ??

MS Paint>Get from Scanner or Camera =
This problem may occur if the scanner or camera does not support Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). The Get from Scanner or Camera option is a WIA feature.

the copier is a twain scanner and if you do not have a program that is twain compliant you can get some free ones on the web to fit the bill for testing. make sure you turn the scanner online when using the network scangear tool as well.
