Just fitted a main controller pcb to V2 finisher on IR7086 and now getting E720-0002, code not listed in any of my manuals. Has anyone got a clue what this code means. Although not certain I have a sneaky feeling it may be F/W related.

you are on the right track with the firmware. This is a common issue when getting boards in for these model finishers. You will have to connect and flash the firmware on the board and machine in order to get them at the same level so they can talk.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
