[Error Code] inner finisher a1

hi,
working on canon inner finisher a1 first i got 1101 jam code then e0571
the gripper unit was stucked and making a load noise. do i need to replace
the gripper unit and what is the procedure? much appreciated for any help.

E571-0001
Solution :

Problem was resolved by applying grease to the gripper and stapler rails on finisher.

E571-0001 error code is an error in the gripper open close motor M7. While watching the gripper at start up it never moves. The gripper unit did move freely if it was operated by hand manually. ??

Workaround :
In this case replacing the Gripper Assembly FM4-2698-000 resolved the issue.

Yes replacing gripper assy is the right thing!

Yes Canon actually modified the gripper assembly and the stapler rail. Make sure you install the new type of rail also while you have it apart. A bad rail will crash stapler and gripper assembly
