training for this machine requires many of hours of online courses...in order to complete these you have to be an authorized technician and then once you complete those it is a 4 week hands on class. If you are not an authorized dealer then I can see why he doesn't want to go through with this type of training. This is not a machine that you want to work on every now and then and expect to do a good job. It requires hours of upkeep and planning to service these units correctly.

Hi Charm5496, I am a little intrigued here; I did the Imagepress 7000VP/7010VP classroom training late last year at the Canon European training centre in Germany, there was no prerequisite online training required for the 8 day course.

all imagePress contracts call for a two hour tech response window, that has no excuses
these units are High Priority, even over those Advanced printers

                      Hi ZaZa

You need to work for a Canon authorised dealer in order to do this training, the training would need to be arranged by them with Canon...

only 8 days??? Ours was 4 weeks of hands on training. The online training portion was around 20 hours of computer based training that you had to complete before you were even allowed to sign up for the hands on portion. there was a seperate course for the perfect binder as well

NEC is like that too. You have to do online courses before you can go to factory training...you can get a waiver on the black and white though but not the color.
