    Canon iR110 Disk Partition is Full & Disk Partition Exceeded Threshold

    I have an old imageRUNNER 110 running system 4.82.01 (yes the touch screen stil works). THe problem we have started running into is the SCS is reporting both Disk Partition is full and Disk partion exeeds threshold errors at start up. So far once you clear the messages the system boots but then lies the big question, for how long?

    We have had the power blink off once or twice the past few weeks shutting off the SCS prematurely, we have had issues with voltage drops and yes have upgraded our UPS to support and compinsate.

    Othe than running the standard clean-up and restore processes is there anything else I could look at?

      Yes, look in the phone book for an authorized Canon technician.

          Yeah... Who do you think I am working with? Myself and the guy that originally installed the machine 8 years ago are both working on it. The problem lies with one, it beingold software and two neither have seen this before. Hence the post, now does anyone have anything constructive to add or are we going to have more of these Pass the buck style answers?

          I have the SU password and access to the directory structure of the Sun box, I just need someone that has more experience with Unix, specifically this unit to help me identify rouge files or places that get loaded with old log files that can be deleted safely. The machine has been in production use for 8 years without a reload of the sun. I am guessing it has a lot that can be removed.

              Not sure if this will help, but I'm sure it's worth a shot. (Please don't fault me for the poor spelling and grammar; this is just a copy / paste.. )

              Symptom: HT - Check the size of the SCS hard disk drive and ram memory and see sizes set up for each partition (var, document library, root),

              Cause: Information

              Solution: Explained to use the df -k command from a command tool logged in as supper user. This will display the 4 partition mounts and what each has for available space and then what percentage of that space is actually being used.
              Add the partitions together to get the hard drive size of either 9 or 18 gigs.

              To check the ram memory you type top at the sub -.

              Fact: Add the root (/), the Var (/var), and Kodak Library (/var/spool/kodak_library.) This will give you HD size.
