I work at NIH and we have a Cannon Image Runner 7086 and we got a message of E0000500 what does that stand for ? Do we need to call a tech for service ?
It is a communication error between the copier and the finisher, Vigour has given you good advice on the approach to this problem. I would add, that while both the copier and the finisher are turned off, reseat the coaxial communications cable between the two components. It is a twist on the knurled connector to disengage, and push in and twist to re-engage the cable.
As mentioned before, turn the finisher on first, then the copier. If this does not resolve your issue, it is now time for a certified technician to resolve the problem.
