    Canon IR3025n issues

I purchased this second hand from an auction but received no paperword. I am trying to access the service mode but unsure how.

I have a feeling my secretary is using the machine for personal use and is sending out faxes.

Is it possible for me to print out the faxes she has sent?
Also please could someone advise me on getting to the service mode.

    Thanks

forget about service mode, if u are not a tech, u can cause many issues not understanding what u access

all u need to do is put an ADMIN PASSWORD ON printer/ then administer Department IDs and passwords to workers

buying a printer with no paper trail is a poor business decision

To set up a System Manager ID and password:
      1. Press Additional Functions------->System Settings------->System Manager Settings.
      2. Press 'System Manager' and enter the name of the person who is to be the System Manager.
      3. Press 'System Manager ID' and enter the numeric ID of the System Manager. Up to seven digits can be used.
      4. Press 'System Password' and use the numeric keys to enter the password. Up to seven digits can be used.
      5. Press 'Next'.
      6. Press the 'E-Mail Address' option and enter the E-Mail address of the System Manager.
      7. Press 'Contact Information' and enter information on where to contact the System Manager.
      8. Press 'Comment' to enter any comment for the System Manager.
      9. Press 'OK'
      10. Press 'Done' to return to normal mode.

      Enter Department ID"s and Passwords-

      Answer :
      1) Press Additional Functions
      2) Press System Settings
      3) Press [Dept. ID Management]
      4) Press [On]
      4) Press Register Dept ID/Password
      5) Hit Register
      6) Enter Dept ID and a password. ( Numeric numbers only)
      7) Hit OK
      8) Hit Done

If Department ID Management has been set or turned ON, the Department ID and password must be entered before using the machine.

      1) Press the ID button.
      2) Use the (number keys) to enter your Department ID and password.
      3) Press Dept. ID button to enter your Department ID.
      4) Press Password button and enter your password if Any.
      5) Press the [ID] button for Login/out

When Copier is configured with Department ID turned on. The client allows users who have restricted access to the copier to perform faxing.

ImageRUNNER could be configured to fax, for users who would not otherwise have access to the services of the imageRUNNER.
      Make the following settings:
      1.Additional Functions
      2.ID System Settings
      3.Dept. ID Management
      4.Register Dept ID Password
      5.Select Limit Functions
6.Under Limit Functions, Turn off Send
      7.Press OK
8.Exit Additional Functions, Press the ID key

The Dept. ID Screen will display, and the Send Tab will be available. Faxing can now be performed.

Note: If the Copier is configured with Dept. ID Management turned on, Additional functions cannot be accessed without the ID.

Check your phone bill when it comes - you'll see all the calls placed on that line.

(Really old fashioned and low tech, but it works. )

That is, of course, she's not faxing her family and friends back in the "old country".

Those international calls can add up in a hurry.

                        Re: Canon IR3025n issues

I'm thinking that you want to actually see the contents of the faxes themselves, not just where they went, number of pages, etc...

Am I correct in that assumption?

If so, the answer is unfortunately a big fat "No", as the machine does not retain images of sent faxes.
