Can an h1 rip be removed from a 5180 not an i model but, it does have u-send and fax, by swapping the controller chip from a ( c version) to a (n version), resetting the service mode to 0 to remove rip, and loading the network software. All of that in a nice run on sentence my English teacher would be so proud.

There is no N Boot rom on this model-
LMS= LICENSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Printer Kits for many of the newer Canon devices are LMS based. The BootROM on these devices will always end with a C. There is no N, P, or H BootROM for these devices.
you can check for the LMS-based Printer Kit on the Canon device the same way as you would check for any other installed LMS-based option or kit.
Perform the following steps:
1. Press the [Counter Check] button on the copier control panel.
2. Hit the [Device Configuration] button on the LCD screen.
3. Scroll down through all of the available pages on this Device Configuration screen. Look for either PS, PCL or UFRII. The methods listed here (ex. PS, PCL, or UFRII) are installed and are available for printing.
For example, if you find UFRII and PCL, but do not find PS on this screen on an iR C5180, it means that the UFRII/PCL Printer Kit is installed, but the PS Printer Kit is not installed. The exact Canon Printer Kits available vary by device model. See your specific device's documentation for more information.
* Note - You will need to install the appropriate printer drivers on the workstation in order to print.
There is no N BootROM for these models.
There is only a C BootROM.
In order to print using the UFRII/ PCL Printer Kit-N1 or the PS Option-N1, you should receive a LAN number in the kit and MUST register it online using the License Management System. The key must then be entered on the machine in Additional Functions > System Settings > scroll down > License Registration. Press 'Start' on the License Registration screen and then reboot the copier.
To verify the printer kit is installed:
1. Press the Counter Check button, then hit 'Device Configuration'. If the printer kit is installed, it will be displayed here (ex. UFRII/PCL Printer Kit).
OR
2. Check the LCNS-TR setting under Service Mode Level 2 > Copier > Option. The ST-LXUFR and ST-PCL should be set to '1', if the UFRII/PCL Printer Kit-N1 is installed. The ST-PS should be set to '1' only if the PS Option has been installed. If these options are set to '0', it means that the option is not installed.
* Remember that the PS Option-N1 requires the UFRII/ PCL Printer Kit-N1 and the iR 512MB Expansion RAM-C1 (bringing total memory on copier to 1.5 GB).
In order to print via TCP/IP, make sure the RAW and LPD Settings are turned 'On' under Additional Functions, System Settings, Network Settings, TCP/IP Settings. LPD may be set to 'Off' by default.
* Note: The Printer Kit license can be transferred from 1 machine to another, the same way a Universal Send Kit can be transferred. Make sure to have the disable code when calling the TSC to perform the transfer. On the i models (C5180i / C4580i / C4080i), the printer kit is standard and cannot be transferred.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -
Re: removing h1 rip from irc5180
Is it possible to add the ufrII/pcl to a 5180 after taking off the rip. The reason I want to take off the rip is the copier won't see it when printer is hit it says check plugs. And I can't ping the rip either this all happened after a recurring Eooo3 code. This code resets every time and the machine may run a week or a month without it coming back. I have another H1 now i'm going to try in the morning I just looking for a back up plan.Comment

did u read my post above, it explains about the LMS
look at your error codes again
E0003- has nothing to do with the Fiery
E003 is Fixing unit low temperature trouble
Checking Disconnection of the Connector in the Thermistor Wiring.
Replace the fixing belt unit or Replace the fixer and AC driver PCB.
In the service mode, clear the error by selecting COPIER > FUNCTION >CLEAR > ERR
did u check this setting > when u have a Firey connected it should be as follows under
COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT & set it to "3"**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
