hello to everry body, i want to know about the system softwares of the following models are same or different? ir4570/3570/2870/3530/2230. when i change the ir 3530/2230 as a printer can i use ir4570 series priter bootrom and hard disk?if not i want to know what are the similarities and differences between those models. i have no seperate manual for ir3530/2230. can any one help me? thanhs in advance.

Why don't you attain some knowledge in Service, before requesting information on swapping parts

thanks mr. teckat .i did not swapped any thing from ir4570 to 2230. i have some knowledge how to change the copier as a printer. i already note your posts before. i am your fan. a customer ask me to change his ir2230 as a printer. i know that i should put an one more 128mb memory. but my qustion is can i use ir4570 printer bootrom and hard disk? after your reply i will start my work. thank you.

Copier Boot Rom is different between 2230 & 4570

imageRUNNER 2230/2830/3530 =FM2-3803-500
imageRUNNER 2270/2870/3570/4570 =FM2-4837-000

Printer Boot Rom from kit E2-E3 !!
P = UFR II (This boot ROM & SSW is included in the UFR II Printer Kit E3.)
H = UFR II and PCL (This Boot ROM & SSW is included in the UFR II/PCL Printer Kit E2.)

The iR2230/2830/3530 will only work with a total of 256 meg of memory installed.

If it has a 256 meg. DIMM already installed, do not install the additional 128 meg. DIMM. One way to check the memory in the copier is pull it out and look at it. It should have a sticker on it that indicates the size.
or Another way is to go into the service mode.

no a 4570 boot rom will not work in a 2230 series machine. You need to purchase a pdl kit for the 2230 that includes the correct boot rom, RAM (if you need it), firmware and HDD.
