Cannot Print From USB stick on IRA C9000 and 8000

I have just installed 2 new Imagerunners 8000(B&W) & 9000 (colour) and my customer wants to be able to print from USB stick on both machines. I have made sure that USB is set to on in settings. the machine recognises the USB stick it just cannot see any of the files that are on the stick. it goes without saying that if the machine cannot see the files you cannot select to print them. I have tried 3 different types of USB stickl I know I am probably missing something really obvious here. Please can someone point me in the right direction, the service manual is very poor in this respect.

    Thanks

What type of files are on the sticks? I believe jpegs print on all of them, but PDF's may need a license on the copier to be able to print them...

To tell you the truth, I know how to fix the bus, but don't need to know how to drive the bus, so to speak. We have a gal that sets up all the features on our copiers, and I imagine there is a setting in there somewhere that is being overlooked, but I can't really say what that might be. There are people here who know almost everything about them, and one will more than likely appear here soon...

          imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051 / C5045 / C5035 / C5030 / C9075 PRO / C9065 PRO / C7065 / C7055

          Is this setting ON
Settings/Registration > Function Settings > Store/Access Files > Memory Media Settings and turn on Use Scan function and Use Print Function.
After making changes reboot the IR

Specification for printing files from a USB stick at one time is 6 files each with a maximum size of 2GB.

USB memory media with security features (password protection etc.) are not supported.

          • Memory media used with an extension cable is not supported.

          • Memory media used via a USB hub is not supported.

          • Memory media that does meet the USB specification is not supported.

          • Some memory media cannot be used.

          • When using memory media, the machine may not enter the Sleep mode completely. Weekly Timer settings are also disabled.

JPEG and TIFF files can be printed out of the box. However, PDF files will need either the Direct Print Kit or the PS kit to be printed from the USB drive.

settings/registration>prefrences>display settings>turn memory media to ON
              restart the device

The machine will recognize PDF's, JPEG's, TIFF's out of the box and depending on what print options you have will be able to print the JPEG's. If you have an imagepass on either of the device's you will need the direct print kit in order to print anything from the USB port.
You are using the USB port on the side of the control panel as well???

Hi...try checking the display setting of memory media is ON or OFF.
                REG/SETTING > PREFERENCES>DISPLAY SETTING > STORE LOCATION DISPLAY SETTING

I face this same problem, machine can detect my thumbdrive but there is no memory media icon in the advance box menu.

                Best of luck
