    iRC2880i bad copies

I'm having some issues with one 2880. The image is good when printing, but all copies are quite dark. Before I'm fitting a new scanner unit I must ask: Is there anything else left to do? I'm remembering that there is some adjustment at the service mode...

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    1) Place paper (of the type most often used by the user) on the copyboard
    glass, and close the DADF.
    2) Touch the following notations in sequence to bring up the Adjustment
    screen:
    1 COPIER
    2 FUNCTION
    3 CCD
    3) Press [DF-WLVL1] to highlight.
    4) Press [OK].
Automatic adjustment starts; if it ends successfully, the screen shows
    [OK!].
    5) Remove the paper from the copyboard glass, and place it on the original
    tray of the DADF.
    6) Press [DF-WLVL2] on the touch panel to highlight.
    7) Press [OK].
    - The machine executes auto adjustment (duplex stream reading).
    - When the adjustment ends normally, the machine indicates 'OK!' on the
    screen.
    8) Press the Reset key twice to end service mode.
    9) Turn OFF the power switch on the operation panel and main power switch
of the host machine in or-der

Great! That's what I was looking for. I'll try that on monday.

Teckat: The auto gradation adjustment is done several times; no luck.

        Thanks Guys!

I recently had the same problem...did all that you did
as well. Only to find out the customer ran out of toner and was dumb enough to
put the waste toner back in the BLK toner ctg. What a friggin mess to deal with. Ended up replacing the Black drum unit.

Have you tried running a copy in each color ?

I've totally forgot to answer to this thread. Sorry about that!

My problem was cleared with the CCD -adjustment (lucky me). But it's nice to know that there's someone even dumber than me . I've never ever heard that someone has emptied a color copier's waste toner back to the cartridge. Oh no.

have seen this dumping of waste toner in the toner holder/customer paid for parts-labor
