ups i am sorry my friend i was false the code is 602-0003, i went to my costumer without my glasses i have problem with my eyes. thank you for reply.

I hapen to see and E602-004 in the error log on a IR6020i. I did the 1&9 trick and got the white
flashing square but it did not drop, like I have seen on the IR6000.
May be I did not wait long enough, huh?
Also, I could not find the definition for the 0004 partion of the code. I only have
the manual for the IR 5000/6000. It has alway been good enough before now.
Is there a svc manual suppliment available for this?

Me too,,, ran into a 2200 yesterday with the code, thought I would try the 1&9 start up. Started the process, walked out to my car, got the laptop, and the drive. Booted the laptop, I had to reconfigure for my Nethawk cable, just recently popped a bigger hard drive in the laptop, found the driver, 3rd time was the charm in getting it configured properly, and hooked it up.

The first box was still sitting there blinking in the upper left hand corner, doing nothing... I have had the same results more often than not, so my first instinct is to replace the drive and move on, especially on a "vanilla" machine.

Read/write error on HD
[Equivalent to a Low Level Format]
Perform the following:
1. SERVICE_MODE>COPIER>FUNCTION>SYSTEM>CHKTYPE,
and Select #1 through #4.
2. Press OK
3. Press HD-CLEAR for each CHK-TYPE #.
4. Press OK
5. Turn OFF/ON machine.
NOTE:
Performing CHK-TYPE #1 will erase Mailbox Registration

Thank you for that explaination. This customer is in crunch time for a case and time is critical for
them. Plus I have spoiled this customer for the last 10-12 years, to the point that two or three
extra key strokes is a big deal.
I do not believe they are using the mailbox functions, I will have the opportunity today to find
out.
At the moment, I am most concerned about the light copy on the 6020i. The meter on this
machine is around 690K. It took them a year to put 90K on the meter. This is their back-up
unit. I believe it should ask for toner if low. I have only re adjusted the laser offset, drop the
dev bias 15 volts and put AE at 9 along with density, and it is still on the lighter side. This
happens on the printer side as I noticed when I printed from the misc P under functions.
Before installing this unit I polished the drum with the Canon magic powder, replaced the
corona's with the brown wire and installed the blue wire cleaners.
I know the mag roller is supposed to be changed around 600K, but have seen them go a fair
distance beyond that with little change. Today I will get more serious about this issue
and pull the chargers and manually clean all corona's.

Any other advice?

Teckat,

No I did not get those, thought about it on the way back to the office.
It was brought to my attention by one of the lawyers and I noticed it
when I printed out the adjustment list.
I just went through this on this page but was asked to log in twice and then it gave me a
blank page. I will attemp to send this in an email.

It happens while printing, surprising it is not that noticable during copy, but I can see it.

I will be out of town for the week end. I will try to post more before I go.
