My book does not list an 804, 803 and 805. 805-0006 is Laser scanner motor cooling fan 2 (FM6)

E800 codes are always a fan problem. The favourite on those is the one at the front by the drum.

sx633 is right. The 0006 is the subcode for the laser fan which is on the front frame by the drum

Opps. You are correct. I went off memory which isn't what it used to be.

E804 doesn't exist according to my manual.
E803 is caused when the scan lamp ends blacken and 805 is the laser fan as previously mentioned.
i've checked Canon UKs help charts and still nothing there about E804. Are you absolutely sure it is 804 ?

                      Re: e 804 error

E-804 does exist on some Canon models (but not this one according to the manuals) and it relates to a cooling fan on a power supply.
Don't always trust the manuals as quite often they are translated through a couple of languages before being published in English.
                      Hope that helps.
