In a law firm the secretaries are complaining that the machines do not automatically select the 14" paper all the time. They have to go
over to the machine and cancel the job, then go back to their computer and select 14" paper in the driver.
I showed them that all they had to do is press "ok" on the load paper screen and then it prints.
I asked her to print someething on 14" and the problem did not surface.
They are working on a case going to trial and they are all frantic, and witchy about these extra key strokes. And to make
it better they just say it shouldn't do that, DA, but we can't let the IT tech you recommend look at our network.
only the one from Hughs/Calihan.
And no you can not work on the machine we need it.
It miss stapled I think three staples and they placed an emergency call. I ran 3 sets of 50 pages with staples. The last set
I did a double staple. No problems. This only made it worse.
Oh and then she complained because when she put an oversize envelope on the glass it did not select the 14" paper. It
turns out that the scan lamp did not come on when the feeder is closed. No you can not work on it we need it. Again,
just a couple of more key strokes to get around the problem. Almost done.
And they also say that sometimes it takes a long time for it to start printing. They print in different formats when this happens
I went to the 6020i to verify the problems and it is printing a little lighter than the other and they are supposed to be exactly
the same. Most of the time they are, but not today.
Whew, thanks for letting me get that out.

Here's what I did: I printed out the settings for the adjustments and printer settings as far as what is found under
additional functions printer settings on both machines.
The setting for "APS/ADS" is on for all four paper supplies for the printer side. I'm not sure about the network
side of this machine and may have some of the settings incorrect.
Printer setting>paper feed> default is set to LTR.
Paper size override is off.
I max'ed out the AE & Density adjust to get the 6020i close to the 5020. I also adjusted the laser offset from 40 to 4.
I am not sure if that helped, but on the previous laser in this unit adjusting this helped cure an E061 code. the beam
was just barely shining on the laser housing. That laser has been replaced. Yeah it's a straw but it is all I could come
up with today.
The 6020i had an E602-0004 code that they did not call me about. I could not find a definition in the 5000/6000 manual.
I just noticed that the "Erase document after printing" is turned off. I would rather have this on as I know how confused
my laptop gets when I get less than 15% space left.
Anyway I am going to look through the operator network manual (if I have one) to see if I can find a clue.
If anyone else has a clue I would be happy to read it. (please someone have a clue)
Thanks for your time
