Using Vista on a new laptop we got connect fine to 7105 via crossover - had a bad HDD (E0602-0001 code) replaced HDD w/firmware loaded.
Connect w/SST 452ec using updated HDD .idf that is most recent and updated to "see" the Fujitsu HDD in 7105; all connections to main board good, boot rom 10.39 good, dram good, when go to download mode 2+8 to start in assist mode to let SST decide what else needs uploaded to HDD we get the prompt "was HD replaced" ----> click "Yes" ---->HDD cannot initialize E240 error -5 message.
Even tried a boot rom v 50.37 no go with that, too. All boot roms same n versions so no problems there trying to use C version when N required.
I did notice an open connector in SCSI board to left of main controller where internal scsi connects; there is also an open connector right of 2 pin connector top left of main controller. Tech said they are not used and not the issue. But I wonder if there is a wire connector missing that goes into one or both of those ports that plugs into board below the main controller.
Our tech thinks we should just give up on it there is some issue that will take too much time to even make it worthwhile from a bill of materials standpoint and since it is a trade just keep it around for parts.
I believe something simple is being overlooked. This is a mint machine low meter want to get it running. Any advice appreciated and thanks in advance.
