    [Error Code] E001-0000 on iRAC5045

    Hi, all

Anybody encounter this E code before? I have replace the fixing unit / DC-cont but still cant solve the problem. Both suspected faulty parts work fine on another machine.

It bootup normal but any paper pickup will trigger the E code, whether it from printing or copying jobs.

Please help! Totally stuck with a angry Customer breathing down my neck.

check your DCON version. make sure it is at 29.01 or above
could have faulty DCON as well
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

DC cont PCB has been replace, still same E code. Even the "faulty" DC cont PCB was brought back to workshop and tested no problem. Forgot to mentioned it Version 2 firmware so it above 29

Totally running out of ideas! Any more pointers?!

Might be a silly question but are you clearing the error code before reboot?

Yes, cleared & reboot. But once at ready status, the moment any paper pickup it will have a E code.

Go back to basics, try another fixing film or fixing assembly.

Yes, done that too. Took a brand new unit and put it in, also same problem. Brought back old unit to workshop and put it to copier, it work fine without any E code.

So after clearing the code the machine comes ready to make a copy???
Have you checked the fuser temp under "analogue" to see if temps look good?
I would guess the machine is rotating the fuser and possibly doing a gradation upon reboot which would suggest those systems are normal.
If it is only when paper feed is engaged have you tried the other paper sources?
If so maybe you have a short somewhere in the paper feed system... Motor, clutch, pinched wire, etc...
What about the power source at the clients location. Is the machine putting the electrical supply into a brown out condition? Check voltages at outlet when feed starts. Drop should be less than 10%.
Pray to the copier gods for help too?
After all is said and done, More is said than done.

That is a "fucked up" case !

If you have 2 similar machines, than probably the best way is the old way : switching parts

                  What I would check:
Turn on the machine and let it stay ON (meanwhile check fuser temp on analog if it is ok)
wait till it gets to standby than activate it again and check fuser temp.

If the temperatures are as they should, than probably you need start looking at other parts.

Thank you all for the help & pointers given.

Had manage to found the fault was due to shaft(circle in red) being worn out which hold a 1-way gear(highlighted in yellow) that drives the fixing unit. Kudos to my partner's sharp eye and sensitive finger that feel it. Part number for it is FM3-5967-000

Total mileage of this copier is 300k but most jobs are from PC-based with default settings of duplex in their printer server shared queue.
