it is an error with your process unit where the toners, drum, ITB and waste bottle sit. You could have anything from a loose connection, toner or paper in a connector, bad motor or sensor even the DC controller. My advice is to pay someone who is trained on the device to work on it.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned. -

It may have been a customer caused problem changeing toner. I would also wonder if e025- 0103 Bk buffer supply error isnt a customer induced problem that went away now for a few months too!
edit: I was right I think both of these can be caused by the customer and im not sure but maybe related to the need to arrow through the screens to register a new toner? hmmm?

Symptom
An E025-xxxx error code is displayed on the control panel.
Cause
Defective Drum Unit
Blocked Toner Pipe (High Humidity / High Temperature Environment)
Loose/ Faulty Wiring
Faulty/ Dirty Toner Feed Level Sensor
Faulty Toner Supply Motor
Defective Connecting PCB Unit
Defective DC Controller PCB Assembly
Action
Check for a broken or jammed toner supply auger on the Drum Assembly.
Check the toner holes on the Drum and Hopper Assembly. Use a vacuum to clear any blockage found.
Also check that the sensor lever is not jammed
Check for loose or pinched wires on the Connecting PCB Unit at J551 and J552.
If the Toner feed motors (M8 through M11) can be activated in service mode under PART-CHK, suspect a fault at Toner feed level sensor. First clean the sensor, if found to be faulty replace it with a new one:
PS3 through PS5: Toner feed level sensor (WG8-5772-000)
PS6: Toner feed level sensor for black (FK2-0149-000)
Replace the Toner Supply Motor and check the connectors at the DC Controller PCB. Use the following chart as a reference:

Wow blast from the past! 3380 was a first gen machine and so the gear holder assembly would leak and the cover over the PCB would allow it to cover the sensors and send people into left field.
Both parts were updated and basically this doesn't happen on the second gen models like the 3480. HOWEVER. we are advised to deep clean in that area once a year because the system is not perfect. Also every once in awhile vac out under the toners and the gear holder assembly's.I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.Comment

Remove toners, remove waste toner bottle, remove cover under toners, with a can of air, blow air into where the black toner gears(front of toner housing) below there is the sensor that gets dirty, reassemble, problem solved. The last digit in the error code is the color(sensor) that is dirty, have seen that many,many times, its a very easy fix. Good Luck.Canon Cover to remove 12-8-2016 001.jpgComment
