    IR2270 - Memory??

    Hi,

    Sorry guys I am a total newbie with photocopiers - I am normally server hardware based..


    My new customer has a IR2270, they bought on ebay a canon multi pdl printer kit E1 ......, .., - They asked me to fit it which was easy enough.. however now its coming up with E000744-3030 Error / doesnt always boot (black screen)

    I tried the Old Boot Rom (it has a pencil mark A on it) and it just black screens, I took the extra 256mb Dimm out and it boots fine, I tried the Boot Rom N, with just the orginal SMS-25628N2P-H Dimm and it comes up with the E000744-3030 error.

    So I am guessing the other Dimm is at fault...

    I know I have a load of old Dimms kicking around in my office, so can I use one of those of does it have to be single side, ecc, or anything special.. I have a service manual and parts manual but cant find a recommended memory list anywhere..

    Hoping some one will be nice and point me in the right direction.

      Need service support tool to install firmware again.

      The version of the language file on the
      HDD and that of the bootable do not
      match.
      Download a language file of the correct
      version.

          Thank you so much for replying, I have got some more memory on order as well. just need to find the SST to do this work now. :-(

              E744-3030 is displayed during BOOT-UP
              can be caused by an insufficient amount of RAM

              COPIER>DISPLAY>ACC-STS>RAM

              The machine should display 512MB of RAM installed.

              you don't need to flash the N boot rom-
              u have a memory issue

              WA7-3296-000=512M RAM DIMM ASSEMBLY

              READ THIS PDF>>>>>>>>>>>iR2270 MEMORY TP07.pdf

              Be careful not to install a 512MB DIMM into a machine with 512MB already installed. Adding 128MB,
              256MB, or 512MB DIMM into the additional open slot will render the machine inoperative.
              The 512MB DIMM can be mounted on either of the slots.
              The additional 256 Memory DIMM is no longer provided in the Multi-PDL Printer Kit.

                  Sorry for the delay in saying THANK YOU!!! Teckat spot on new memory was fitted and now its working fine.
