I need help with this code

E003 with a sub code of 0002, which indicates that the machine detected an abnormally low temperature when the fixing heater is turned on.

Check that the readings for the sub thermistors under Display for FIX-E and FIX-E2 are steady-
did u clear the code in Service Mode after replacing unit

    Before replacing such things as, the entire Fixing unit, the DC Driver PCB, AC Driver PCB, and DCON;
check SW3 and it's right door actuator. In some cases SW3 has been found to also cause E003-0002 codes (also sub code 0000). SW3 is the Fixing unit's AC interlock switch. Sometimes the right door actuator will be bent and not fully press SW3 when the right door is closed. SW3 is a button switch located right above some of the Fixing unit's rear frame connections. SW3 has been found to show signs of wear and have carbon build up inside it. If the right door actuator is straight and making good contact , inspect SW3 and it's AC connections. If any flaws are found after inspecting SW3, replace it. SW3's part number is, FM2-9427-000. The image below is for reference purposes only, it points out SW3 and it's right door actuator.
    kb1017.jpg

Also check if the right door lower hinges are broken or have cracks.
Will cause the right door to tilt slightly and not allow the actuator to activate SW3 properly, hence causing E003 error code.

Clear the error code in service mode, and cheat SW3 and power cycle the printer to verify if the position of the right door is the cause for this error code.

      Hi to all,

I will raise this issue again...

My one costumer have an IRC3080 that have error during boot-up (E003-0002).
      >I replaced the fixing film unit and clear the error in the service mode but same error happen.
      >Checked the interlock switch of fixing unit and switch of right door... Ok!
      >Replaced fixing assembly with repaired one (New fixing film) and clear error in service mode but same error happen....
      >Swap the AC and DC driver to other working machine and clear the error but same problem...
      >Replaced Dc controller but same error happen...

      Any suggestion would be appreciated...

      Thanks in advance...

DC controller would be the next step.

Are you sure that your fixing unit is turning properly (check your drive) and that your right door is sitting on the pin correctly (check the lower pin for damage)? Both can cause the E003 error code.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Do not overlook those right door lower hinges (cracks prevent the door right /door lower hinges to not sit correct and not allow the actuator to activate SW3 properly

If the fixing unit is not turning; fixing end thermistors, TH2 and TH3, will not heat up properly
Mark the gears to see if u receive drive

I already cheat the switch (SW3)of the right door but same problem.

What i observed is when i measure the voltage at AC driver, there is no voltage going to the interlock switch(SW3). Then when i clear the error, switch off the machine, i measure the voltage at ac driver during start-up. i get 220V but immediately drop within 1 second...

any switch or interlock to be checked...?

            Thanks

              Thanks

If switch's continuity is ok/ and harness is ok/ could be DC PCB issue / it cuts all power to fix-on overheat detect from triac AC pcb relay-thermistors-Thermal Switch

the safety circuit on the DC driver PCB outputs the thermistor error signal (THERR) to the DC controller PCB.

safety circuit in the DC driver PCB makes the relay drive signal (RDRV) "L". The relay is turned off, and energizing to the fixing heater is intercepted.

DC controller PCB makes the heater drive signal (HTDRV1,HTDRV2) "L" and turns off the fixing heaters.

                Re: Image Runner 3380i

i already replaced DC controller also as mentioned above. is there any interlock or switches to cause this error? i also try to open the front cover and switch on the machine then the machine boot-up but with pop-up door open. i close the door and the machine initialize but the heater is not heating up then the error E003-0002 happen again...

i am already out of idea of what will cause this error.

previously when i am encountering this error, replacing the fixing film will soved this error but now i almost checked everything regarding fixing system with no avail...

any suggestion would be much appreciated...

                Thanks...

have u tried to swap the FIX unit into the other printer ???

if so , and error remains on that printer/ u have a bad repaired unit
